The trusty F250 Super Duty broke down on the side of the road. A front brake caliper had gone bad and was dragging on the rotor. Jack and I limped into a nearby NAPA and made the repair. Because of previous preparations I had all the tools and equipment to make this repair in the field. Had I not taken steps to equip my truck with the necessary equipment we would have been forced to hire a tow truck and pay a shop for a simple repair. This could have cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Replacing front brake calipers is simple job that almost anyone can do themselves. Remember that auto parts stores can turn worn rotor. New rotors would have cost $124 each. I had mine turned on the brake lathe for $12 each.
