The Franciscan University Alumni Relations Department is proud to honor Franciscan Alumni with the following awards:
David N. Antonelli '83 MBA '88, Rose M. DeFede Faithful Franciscan Award, for his longstanding commitment to helping Franciscan's business and accounting students secure internships in their field and for his successful accounting career, including 27 years at Bayer.
Andrew G. Doran '03, Alumni Citizenship Award, for his exceptional work as co-founder of In Defense of Christians, a non-profit organization that advocates for the protection and preservation of Christians and other vulnerable communities in the Middle East.
Kathleen C. Herrmann '09, Bishop John King Mussio Award, in recognition of her volunteer service with Haiti180, an organization that administers an orphanage, a hospice for abandoned elderly, and a school with over 200 students in Haiti.
Mariann Hughes '07, Outstanding Young Alumni Award, for her work at the Maryland Catholic Conference, where she serves as the associate director for Advocacy and Outreach, working to support legislation that respects and defends the dignity of the human person.
Kathleen L. (Tennessen '96) Roxas, Father Dan Egan Award, for helping women in Wisconsin come to understand their fertility and bring new life into the world through her work as a trained Creighton Model Fertility Care Practitioner.
Dr. Mary F. (Antinone '70) Salter, Dr. John J. Carrigg Award, in recognition of her outstanding career in mathematics, which included nearly four decades of teaching at Franciscan University.
Daniel G. Schmidt '67, Professor Edward J. Kelly Award, for his 35-year career in insurance, finishing as a senior sales executive at Wells Fargo Insurance, and for his lifelong love of learning, most recently manifested in his pursuit of a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling.
